Intro
In Virle Piemonte (TO), a previously unused space has been transformed into a high-tech production facility thanks to the vision of a local entrepreneur. The new indoor aeroponic system by Agricooltur® represents a concrete model of how sustainability and innovation can generate real value for the territory and the agri-food sector.
requirement
The goal was to regenerate an unused environment with a productive and sustainable focus, leveraging advanced technologies to meet the growing demand for quality vegetables in the large-scale retail and Ho.Re.Ca. sectors. The entrepreneur was looking for an automated, scalable solution capable of ensuring high yields and production continuity.
solution
Agricooltur has implemented a complete and highly automated indoor aeroponic system, equipped with:
- Two vertical cultivation lines on three levels, optimized for intensive growth;
- Three five-story germinators to ensure continuity in the crop cycle;
- Annual production capacity: over 90,000 plants, destined for the large-scale retail and Ho.Re.Ca. markets;
- Targeted misting system that provides the roots with the correct supply of water and nutrients, without waste;
- Management software with a touch interface, allowing for real-time monitoring, adjustment, and optimization of environmental and production parameters.
results
The Virle Piemonte facility demonstrates how Agritech can become a strategic lever for territorial enhancement and agricultural competitiveness:
- Increased yield per square meter thanks to multi-level cultivation;
- Drastic reduction in water use and zero pesticides;
- Continuity and high quality in supply for large-scale distribution and food service;
- A replicable model for those wishing to build a sustainable business in the agricultural sector.
