Intro
Ortindoor is launched in Ivrea, a new production site dedicated to the indoor cultivation of fresh, local, and sustainable herbs and microgreens.
An entrepreneurial project led by two sisters with a clear vision: to offer local restaurants and chefs high-quality products, grown at “zero centimeters” and available year-round.
Ortindoor joins the Agricooltur® partner network, contributing to the development of a widespread supply chain of local and sustainable production.
need
Local restaurants are increasingly seeking solutions to ensure consistent supplies of fresh, high-quality, and sustainably grown products.
In the Ivrea area, there was a lack of a business capable of meeting this need with zero-kilometer production, able to reduce dependence on long and inflexible supply chains.
solution
Agricooltur® has designed and installed a custom aeroponic greenhouse, consisting of:
- Aeroponic cultivation lines that mist water and nutrients directly onto the roots, without the use of soil;
- Germination area dedicated to the initial development of the plants;
- Smart control system that automatically manages light, temperature, irrigation, and nutrients via dedicated software.
The cultivated varieties are selected to ensure maximum freshness and nutritional value, while promoting sustainable agricultural practices.
results
Agricooltur® supported Ortindoor in the creation of a custom indoor production site, designed to grow herbs and microgreens in a controlled and optimized environment.
The solution integrates:
-
Aeroponic cultivation lines for efficient, soil-free growth;
-
An indoor system that allows for year-round production, regardless of external weather conditions;
-
Smart management of light, water, and nutrients to ensure high and consistent quality standards.
This approach makes it possible to offer the local market a fresh product that is stable over time, while keeping sustainability at the core.
